Case poll for the Treo 600

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: DerekToronto

Which PalmOne case would you choose?

Posted by: letsgoflyers81

I went with the Krusell form fitting case. It's similar to the Handspring form fitting case but I like it better. So I'm not really sure how to answer your poll since it's third party but not a flip case.

treo slide swivel case or vaja case

Posted by: stephman

I'm using the Bellagio Treo 600 Cell phone style case,
with a G2 screen protector. Makes it easier for me to utilized the touch screen, withouth worrying about flipping a case open or pulling the phone out of a slide in type case.

Works great for my needs, so ymmv.

I think the form fitting case is better than the slide one. 1. Sliding in and out may wear out the phone. 2. the Slide case blocks the speaker..making the ringer volume too low to hear. 3. the tab hits the screen when you take the Treo out of the case.

Therefor the form fitting one may be better.

None of the above.

I'm using a "Rip-Offs" Holster. It's perfect for me.

Posted by: lgreenberg

AH, good point, it does fit both.

It seems like you have a different case for your Treo every week.

Posted by: Wolfpack Treo

So what is the price on the rip off holster? I didn't see one on the website.

Posted by: lgreenberg

How about $15

i have both the form fitted case and the side case.. i used the form fitted case once... it looks not bad but when you put it on your belt looks and feels bulky... the side case is very close to your waste.. and i can still hear the ring and vibrate from my treo.....

Posted by: hofo_mofo

now i know someone just bought the covertec case....but does anyone else have that case...or the OEM swivel case from palmone...the reason i ask is due to the speaker in the back..the vaja has an opening..i want to see if other cases have it

Posted by: hofo_mofo

ty for that adive...vaja here i come.....sigh if they ever get any stock!

Posted by: hofo_mofo

and now i dream of this

Posted by: lgreenberg

That case scares me. No screen protection at all.

Posted by: WoNGsTeR

My thoughts exactly.

Posted by: hofo_mofo

i dont care about screen protection and keypad protection...i just need an outer shell

the colours that it comes in is variant...the standard one is black on black but you can customize...

the thing is those these cases are cheap...with the solid ultra clip...its 88.90USD from vaja directly...or 84.90USD without the clip

Posted by: DerekToronto

Buy a screen protector....i am using one right now and its works really good. I don't have to worry about skin oil marks on the lcd.

Posted by: hofo_mofo

touche man

im just wondering if the Vaja case impeeds with the mic...

i know it doesnt bother the speaker phone

conversely what about the covertec one

Posted by: DerekToronto

Still waiting...didn't want to paid $35 USD for 3 day delivery! I should have it before April is over... (7 days USA Postal.)

Posted by: DerekToronto

Also I am only using the screen protector by Fellowes WriteRight for iPAQ. $3 each or $20 for 12. This is cheaper that the ones for Treo 600 ($20 each) BUT you have to be really, really careful when cutting it to fit! Once its done it takes about a week to see all of the air bubbles to go away. (it disappears on its own.)
I used these stuff pretty much on any LCD screen (ipod, pda, gameboy etc... not on monitors of cause! ) because 1. you can take it off without leaving any marks. 2. when the bubbles are gone it looks very clear/clean.

Posted by: lgreenberg

I prefer either Brando, Boxwave or Martin Fields screen protectors. They are light years better than the Fellows ones. No bubbles and they can be removed, cleaned and re-applied.

Posted by: dataman

I use a Bellagio case. Works very well.

Posted by: hofo_mofo

lgreenberg...which do you prefer the most and where can i get them online?

thanks man

Posted by: DerekToronto

take a look at this link... whole bunches of case reviews

http://fforum.treobits.com/forums/i...&st=0&#entry987

Posted by: lgreenberg

I'm using the Boxave now:

http://www.boxwave.com/

They are all virtually the same. The only difference is the Martin Fields. It is completely clear. So when installed you don't even know it's there. This does result in a slicker feel though. The Boxwave and the Brando both have a sort of matte finish to them which makes them a little easier to write on.

Posted by: hofo_mofo

hmm in that case ill hunt down for the martin fields one...

but now i need to clean my screen

Posted by: lgreenberg

Martin Fields can be ordered here:

any form fitting cases come with screen protection?

Posted by: rossoneri

Was on the verge of buying the Bellagio case until i was hit with the shipping fee of $25 to canada. NO CHANCE would I spend that amount of money to ship it here. Anybody selling a Bellagio non-flip case? PM me

Posted by: tijerin

on page 2 of this thread are pictures of a yellow and purple caseouter shell case for the treo 600. what brand is that and where can i get one? those look awesome!

Posted by: hofo_mofo

i ordered my vaja i-volution case on april 27th and it was here on april 30th

still waiting for my martin fields screen protectors from singapore ordered on the same day

Posted by: rossoneri

Ordered a metal case from ebay from someone who I did business with a while back for another metal case. It looks the same as the innopocket case, and for my money, it IS the innopocket case. looks like it is one of those "get from manufacturer in far-east, insert your brand name in plastic and bingo you have your own case company" things. When I bought the last case from the guy on ebay, it came in a blank plastic case. This is probably what Innopocket does anyway.

Even if it is not the same case, at least it functions just as well for a lot cheaper

as for the vaja case, people seem to have probs with it. $100 is just a little too much for a case!

and as for the screen protector, ordered boxwave. martin fields seems a little too flimsy/smooth for my liking.

that's the Vaja case. again, people reported problems with that case. for one thing, it's too expensive. secondly, it offers no screen protection. someone reported parts of it flaking off. when they called vaja, they didn't get a good response.

Posted by: tijerin

thanks for the reply. i guess i'll keep looking. that vaja case looks great though. the freakin case they give you with the phone is useless but i still use it for now. they put a hole on the bottom for the power but not for the headset ?!?!

Posted by: rossoneri

just buy the hardcase from ebay from the fellow called pdastuff. He's got a tonne of hard cases and I purchased one from him last september. the shipping is fast and the case is good. so when i got the treo, i went back to him and he's shipping another one over. it's the innopocket case btw.

advantages of hard case: screen protected while in pocket, super protection to prevent damage during falls, excellent finish, can use phone with case closed

disadvantages: flip cover makes it awkward to hold sometimes.

Posted by: DerekToronto

Don't use that slip case that came with it! Feel the inside...like sandpaper!

Derek

Posted by: rossoneri

which slip case? the one in the treo 600 box? mine feels like silk, not sandpaper!

Posted by: rossoneri

Just realised something. The case that came with the treo is sorta too tight. When i get calls, the keyguard turns off obviously to answer the phone a little quicker and all i hear is the soft beeps of the keys being pressed while inside the case. that's not cool at all. don't want keys being pressed because keyguard turns off on in incoming call.

CAN'T wait for my innopocket case to come in so i can throw this treo case in the dumpster (or ebay it)
