My VM4500 Call Clarity SUCKS!

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I am VERY pleased with this phone so far about everything.
BUT, the clarity sounds horrible!

I seriously cant understand what anyone is saying.
It sound is very hollow, and sounds like the mom of the old peanuts cartoon (wha whaw wha).

Its driving me mad now.
Ive done all i can myself by resetting it, taking battery out, checkng diagnostics, etc.. But it still sounds bad.

I wanna know if its because of low reception even though my bars are full. Or if everyone else is experiencing the same thing.

Ive read around and noticed a few with the problem, im curious to know if theirs got fixed. Also when they bought the phone.
Im wondering if the manufacturers have released updated phones yet.

If it's that bad I'd take it back.

While it's true some people have complained about the phone's call clarity, many have had no issues at all with it. My VM4500 sounds fine. Perhaps there is something wrong with your phone.

I agree, not the best sound quality but it's not so bad that it's gets that annoying, get it checked out.

Get it checked out at the Sprint store. Also try using the demo phone while your there and see how it is. Lots of people feel that the 4500 has awful earpiece clarity, so you may just be sensitive to the muddy sound.

HOLY WTF.

Aight, get this.
I check my voicemail, the sound is perfect.
I even go in and change my voicemail message, listen to it and it sounds perfect! Crystal clear.

I recieve a call from a freind, sounds like ××××. (cingular)
I recieve a call from my girl, sounds like ×××× (sprint 8100)
I recieve a call from a freind, sound GREAT! (verizon)

I leave her a message and listen to it before i send it, SOUNDS ××××ING CLEAR AS HELL!!

WTF is going on! This has to be some sort of software issue.

lol....
i've noticed that my phone sounds better when i used my right ear, i guess being a DJ and using my headphones all the time on my left one has taken it's toll.

I think a software upgrade could fix the problem, because it's not bad to the point where I feel like crashing it against a wall. It's minimal. The a620's hissing noise was helped with an upgrade, wasn't it?

Posted by: jimmyjames

The A620's beeping problem was minimized with the firmware update, but not fixed. I don't know if it's a software problem or a hardware problem that's responsible the poor earpiece clarity of the Sanyos.

for an update, ive yet to have a muffled call since the past few days.

weird ××× phone.

now only if i can get rid of that stupid little bullseye icon.

Can't. Nor will Sanyo *foreseably* remove this.

I've noticed that certain phones from different manufacturers (not netwoks) sound different than other phones. I know 2 people with motorola 720s off tmobile and their calls usually sound kind of crappy.

You might want to try using different volumes since sounds distort at higher volumes.
