Yep, the Mobile Office Kit for the Audiovox 8600 is now available on the Verizon Web site for $40. Hmmm... gotta get my hands on the Quicklink software so I can figure out those pesky phonebook files and write a freeware version.

The MOK can be used to backup/manipulate your phone book on your computer, right? From the description on the Verizon site, it sounds like this is solely designed to connect a laptop to your phone for Internet access...

Yes, Smith Micro's QuickLink Mobile should have phonebook editing/syncing software. I agree, there is very little information about what it does. The Smith Micro site has NO information. Every other version of QuickLink has phonebook software, so I'm assuming this does too. I don't know what else it would do.

You got to love Verizon's and Smith Micro's support site. Do a search for Verizon or Mobile Office Kit and you get 0 matches. Very helpful.

Was that cellularsforless.com description specifically for the Verizon MOK for the Audiovox 8600?

I mean, I'm sure it has phone book sync capabilities, I'd just like to see that somewhere official -- or hear it from someone who has the kit.
