When I received a msg and don't touch it, the backlight will still on forever.
How can I disable that?

touch the message

. go to settings>display>backlight and try setting it for 5sec.

I've tried. Guess I have to "touch" it or disable the backlight.

My VM ke433 doesn't do that, the light flashes a few times, stays on for about 5 seconds, then turns off. You might wanna try resetting your phone or call up VM/whoever and see if your phone's defective.

VM told me to look over the user guide. helpless.

well, resetting your phone would basically restore the phone back to factory condition (except the call timer), so your contacts might be lost. If you want to proceed anyways, here's how to do it:

1. type in ##786
2, press Timer
3. press Menu
4. press Reset Default
5. type in 868666 as security code
6. say yes

That should reset the phone.

I fixed without resetting the phone.
This is what i did:
menu-setting-display-flashing lights-DISABLED

Well, I have my phone set on Fast Flash, and it doesn't have that problem, so I think your phone is probably still somewhat messed up, but I guess what you did is a good enough workaround...
