Ringtone file format and max size for Sharp GX-22?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Can anyone with a Sharp GX-22 or GX-20 tell me what file type and maximum allowed file size do the ringtones need to be in order for it to work? smaf, mmf, wav, midi? I'm trying to make some ringtones as I patiently wait for my GX-22 to arrive... argh the wait is killing me!!!

This has been covered so many times. You can just do a search. However what I know is this:

Limit is 50kb. Format is mmf wav smaf mid. If you load wav, it has to be 8khz 16bit mono, or it wont take it.

Handset Manager won't allow you to upload SMAF files to the phone, unless you get rid of the copyright protection nonsense. There was a thread posted on how to do it, but I can't find it. If anyone knows, please REPOST!

Thanks

When you change the wav to SMAF (mmf) with the Yamaha tool, it wont have the copiright issue. I use it every day.

The title of the software is this:

WSC-MA2-SMAF (Ring Voice)

The link to it is this:

http://smaf-yamaha.com/tools/downloads.html

It is very important that you download the exact one I indcated above, as the others wont work. When the wav is ready (8khz 16bit mono) just start this yamaha app, and drag the file over the running program's window, and you are ready to go. When done, go to handset manager, and where you can transfer files, just choose it and upload. I always do it where you transfer the pictures, videos also. There, I jsut upload it to the sound folder of the phone.

My problem isn't with wav-->mmf. It's midi-->mmf.

I have alot of midi's coverted to mmf that won't transfer to the handset due to the copyright issues. How do I get rid of the copyright? Someone posted how to do this, but I can't find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
