Sending emails FROM VX4400/4500

I used to be able (I think) send emails FROM my cell phone to my Yahoo account. Tried recently twice to two email accounts and never got the emails.
Strange.
Does the Web Browser facility have to be enabled?
I can of course send an email to the phone and also send phone to phone but phone to PC not working.
Thanks. Not a big deal but asking.
