Symbian= Simpleton

Palm is what it is used for wanking

Ok bold statements but I thought I would toss a little fun into the mix. Just to see how many things a PPC/Smartphone can do that the other O/s's can't do.

So you have a PPC or WinCE handheld

Make it a phone or game system also, plus music and video player.

How about run Windows 3.1 on it (requires pocket DOS and a big cf card).

I'll post more later but chew on that for a bit

Oh by the way My Casio BE 300 , a very very basic PDA that had base WinCE 3.0 with many features of the core O/s left out as a PDA/Phone

I have to say I'm very satisfiled with both the Palm OS and the Treo 600. Palm is a much more stable OS and there are thousands upon thousands of applications for it.

And I've never used my Treo for wanking.

I am glad you picked up the humor

I worried after that I may have started a war.

In truth I admire Palm for it's very strong PIM functions.

Symbian is what I am not at all a fan of. Tho if you are able to use the O/S to suit your needs then you are indeed a happy camper.

Yeah, I'd like to think I have a sense of humor. I could easily say Microsoft really shouldn't call them Smartphones when there's nothing smart about them or the people that use them.

The bottom line is that everyone has their own needs and preferences, to each their own. If you like it and it works for you, more power to you. But I'll be able to sleep at night knowing my PDA phone or "Smartphone" if you will is better than yours.

Well yours may be better but I can sit back and and know all of my phones are more fun and 1 I had to hack the jebus out of but I did it.

Just to thumb my nose at MS , IAStyle ( who said my PDA was sub stantard and was not able to), and Casio for having such a limited vision.

Hey can your palm play Mario Kart sorry had to ask

Posted by: letsgoflyers81

I haven't tried Mario Kart. But depending on the version, I probably could. I have an NES emulator which lets me play Nintendo game ROM's. I have one for Gameboy too. Oh yeah, now what?

How is palm now for multi tasking? This is being said from total ignorance re Palm.

I remember the biggest complaint used to be no multitasking.

I like being able to have an mp3 playing as I tap out a mail or two, or play hearts and have music playing.

Also can Palm run PS1 games yet? Pocket PC can and you can hook up a controler to it.

There are 2 or 3 ports of a PS1 Emu out already

FPSEce

I have to dig up the links to video of Grad Tur 2 playing on a PPC

The other I know of is PocketSX

Palm OS 5.x has very limited multi tasking. That does include mp3s though. I can play mp3s while I'm playing a game, checking e-mail, web browsing, etc. There isn't very much else you can do though since the multi tasking is so limited. However OS 6 is supposed to support much more inclusive multi tasking. Palm's on its way there, but not quite yet.

I haven't seen a PS1 emulator for Palm, but that's not to say one doesn't exist. I've used NES and Gameboy and I've seen ones for the C64 and Atari 2600.
