i've been trying to download some .jar/jad files to my phone but get a "the requested page cannot be displayed" error. these files do exist, if for example, u go to the url on a pc, as it would ask u to open/save the file to the pc. but for my phone, its as if its trying to go to view the content of these files rather then download them. how do i go about downloading a gif file i create rather than view the gif file on my phone. i've been to a few websites that i have registered with and had assistance and nobody could figure it out.

i also uploaded some java files/midi/pics to a geocities webiste i have to upload to my phone and had the same thing.. "the requested page cannot be displayed" when i put in the direct url of the file location (ie www.geocities.com/mywebsite/file.jad) is there some sort of setting on the phone i can change? is it all in the wap/html of the website? is it not true i can just go to the direct url location on my phone and have it download? i dunno. help!

The browser won't have difficulty getting the file if it is correctly formatted for the 8100. It's likely a server-side issue. Perhaps Geoshities, err Geocities, won't allow a non-domain link to a file (happens a lot with images).

well i just used geocities as an example but i waz at a few other websites that have jar/jad files up for download as well as mids and pics that other people could get. i dont know if its anything specific with the sanyo 8100.

for example, are u able to get any of the games from here?

http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/user/kbandura/games/

i am not. i get an error. (although i dont recall if its a 'page cant be found error' or a data error). give it a try and let me know if u can get any of the files. thanx
