I’m having trouble deciding which phone to keep. Any opinions appreciated.
This list is by no means complete but….
MPX200
+Small
+Great Sync w/Outlook
+Larger External Storage (SD)
+Cost (extra $$ in my pocket)
+Plethora of software
-Battery Life-Microsoft
-PDA
P900
+Screen
+Features
+Very cool
+PDA
+Bluetooth
+Jog Dial
-Cost
-Lack of inexpensive/free software
-Size
-Outlook sync
-Camera (yes, it’s a negative)
Why can’t they make a P900 with Smartphone 2003???

It's really not that tough IMHO...I personally also have an unlocked and flashed MPx200 and couldn't be any more happier with it. The REAL question is, which one do you like using more? I only have the MPx200 on T-Mobile for now because I know I wouldn't want to use anything else at the moment. Windows on a phone is so wonderful. Funny thing is, I'm a HARDCORE Apple fan
Also, this MPx200 is to hold me over until the big-dog MPx comes out. THAT will be THE PDA/Phone to get! I guess what I'm trying to say is if you like the Microsoft Smartphone OS, then sell the P900 and wait for the MPx in the fall. Hope this helps!

I have been quietly debating between a P900 vs. the MPx200 (or other MS Smartphone) for a while, but I'm personally leaning towards the MPx200's form factor.
The bigger (albeit not THAT big) bar-shape of the P900 bothers me a bit.
What is troubling to me is the 2002 operating system on the MPX200. Is it REALLY that bad?
I've heard things like caller ID not working properly (if too many entries?) and poor RF (or is that an AT&T thing? I'm on Cingular).
Can either of you comment on these issues? I typically don't load my phones with more than 50 contacts, and Cingular RF is good to fair in my neighborhood. No 850 MHz where I am in the Bay Area (San Francisco East Bay) as it seems to be all 1900.
I can't stomach the thought of a clamshell phone (smart or non-smart) with an external COLOR LCD... yuck!!! What a waste.
I'm pretty good about recharging, and my phones "sleep" on my nightstand, powered off, with a charger nearby if I really need to top it off. I've heard the MPx200 doesn't have stellar battery life, but it can't be as bad as the T39m with Bluetooth turned on (almost 1/2 empty after one day with the standard slim battery!)

I love the MPX, that is why i am struggling with the decision. Size is definately a plus. The caller ID is an issue on the external screen for me, I do have over 150 contacts but i don't have any pictures loaded. I simply turn off the "answer on flip open" feature and the CID works fine on the main screen.
I have had no problems with the OS and i'm not sure what 2003 would give me. I'm on ATT and my reception is perfect.
Battery is not great but I sync/charge at work all day, have a car charger and a charger at home so it's not an issue.
I could keep the MPX and have over $700 in my pocket, that is a big factor right now.
The P900 is cool but the lack of freeware/shareware (reasonably priced) is annoying. It also doesn't sync very well with outlook.
Decisions, decisions.

I really liked the MPx200 when I had it. It is a very nice phone that has the best parts of a PDA included, and they all work! Looking up a contact is very quick and intuitive, it is great as a phone, the speaker phone is good(not great but good enough)...the best part for me was having the calendar on the home screen just like my former HP 4155 iPAQ. Being able to sync ALL of my contacts and calendar events and have quick access to them was a big plus.
I haven't really gotten to play with the P900, my pops ain't gonna let me have it for any significant amount of time
but I did have a P800 for a minute and didn't really feel it was as good at any of the main functions of a phone. I guess it is nice for people who don't mind working around certain shortcomings in the OS, but I want everything to be easy, quick, intuitive...and so on. I don't like having to look for any of the main functions in a long menu of stuff.

BTW the MPx is actually the MPx300 . I am waiting for that to ditch my Nokia 3650.

The MPx200 doesn't have as much software available for it as you might think. It does not run Windows CE or Pocket PC applications. It only runs Smartphone 2002 applications. Since there is no .net framework for Smartphone 2002, it won't be able to run programs that were made for .net on Smartphone 2003. Not sure why you listed jog dial as a + for P900. If you didn't know, the MPx200 has a jog dial also. I wouldn't say the PDA functions of the MPx200 are so bad as long as you have the right software.
The only major problem I have with my MPx200 is that it lags. A lot of time I'm playing MP3's it skips. I'm still trying to find a way to fix that though. Maybe because most of my MP3's have high bitrates. I would pick the MPx200 over the P900 because of the price.

I wouldn't call what the MPX has a jog dial, it doesn't compare to the P900's jog dial
