Hey i found a way to make AMR ringtones from WAV files. Its great. ill try and upload the program. Just make a WAV file with 16 bit mono 8000hz

Posted by: outlaw2_0

FIle doesnt fit i tried a bunch of different programs to SQUEEZE it into the limit bt it wont work Here is the Link to it though.......

Indirect Link: http://miksoft.evzonastravel.com/mobileAMRconverter.htm

Direct Link:
http://miksoft.evzonastravel.com/serv1-MAC.htm

P.S. when it u click Wav to AMR make sure the file path is complete and then when u go to outpu make it the EXACT same as the file path EXCEPT make it an AMR extension or it wont work.

Example:

Input: c:/my documents/my music/song.wav

Output:c:/my documents/my music/song.amr

Use a WAV editor to shorten or make/create wav clips of about 45 seconds or less.....Depending on the MR u use. 795 is the highest and best quality = bigger size and lower = less quality but smaller size. I use highest quality and use around 33 seconds of music to make one file.

Thanks Outlaw,

What do you recommend for a wav editor?

Also, I'll need to either convert my mp3's or pull the songs off of cd.

I use nero wav editor. Any editor will work just umm go to download.com or sumthin and fine an mp3 - wav editor thena wav deitor. Make them the specs i posted above.

I have music match jukebox 8.2, but it doesn't give me control over the wav settings.

What is a "wav deitor?"

Thanks

UPDATE: I'm trying to track down one that works at the above specified rates, that doesn't cost money. I found some, but they record at a different rate. I may just do a trial download.

OK,
I got it to work, transfer, and play as a ringtone. The only problem is that even at 795 it sounds like it's going through a blown speaker. I'm using Linkin Park's "Somewhere I Belong"

I may have to come up with some less "noisy" songs.

Rock has a reputation of making cell phone speakers sound bad. Rap is good and so is like um oldies but depending on what u listen to is how it will work for u. Turn down ur ringtone volume or sumthin.

Posted by: fredderz

well. what about after you convert the wav to an amr? how does it become your ringtone?

Posted by: outlaw2_0

You must transfer ir to ur phone VIA WAP site or data cable and software.

Posted by: fredderz

WAP site? ....i'm quite new to....well, newer phones. but btw, the software method...do you mean software as a standalone? or with a cable?

..this ×××× place freezes so much when you hit submit buttons.

www.tagtag.com u can make ur own WAP site and also u can search google. Software u gotta have the data cable. Search google for that too or visit www.attws.com go to accesories

Posted by: fredderz

tagtag would be fine if they would allow me to upload any filetype i want....and i've been searching for over 2 hours now and i can't find any that'll let me do it. and it's really hot here.

Posted by: outlaw2_0

IF i were u and u dont mind puttin down like $20 for a cord i would get the USB cable.

Posted by: SEEverist

I went with the USB cable. It seemed like the easy way to go.

Are u satisfied SEEverist? Go to

http://www.acegames.gsmhosting.net/Forum/index.php

That place is cool. Ill upload some of my AMR's if u register. Reply with ur nick name and then watch for my posts under True Tones. Those are AMR.

Posted by: SEEverist

Yeah Outlaw, I'm pretty satisfied. I'm just happy to have something better than the garbage that comes with the phone. Since I'm into rock, the sound quality isn't the greatest, but I'll take it.

My live intro to Deep Purple's "Smoke on the Water" sounds pretty good.

It would be interesting to hear some of the other formats of the same songs to compare though.

I registered. I'm SEEverist there too.

Thanks again!

I uploaded a few of mine. They're all intros, no singing. I made them too long before converting, so the ends (with the fade out) were chopped off.

attention outlaw2_0 i have some questions for u (hope u dont mind me asking them)

1. i've been to the acegaming forums website...and the amr's u posted are REALLY GOOD quality!. Theres a sticky in the acegaming forum about the nokia mp3-amr converter. I downloaded that installed that..and the ones i were making weren't half as clear as the ones u had. Would you suggest using that program or the one you originally created?

2. i dont have the money to buy the cable..so do you know any WAP sites that would let me upload my amr's so i can download them? i would use tagtag.com..but they only support midi and mmf files.

3. if you go to the nechdm website and download ringtones (get them sent to your phone via a text msg..i think its sms), the text message will show you the link to the ringtone. Yet if you notice..the link ends in the file ".mmf". Does this mean the nec 525 also supports mmf files?

thx a lot

Posted by: outlaw2_0

Sry if this took a while for me to notice.

1. The program I used is the best ive seen so far. Although i no longer have it or my NEC 525 just go to google and look for "MIKSOFT Mobile AMR converter" it might be under like a sony ericson thing but it converts WAV to AMR just the same. WOrks on the 525.

2.I havent seen anysites that support the posting of AMR's on a WAP locker. Sry. If i were you just do something to get a couple bucks and look on ebay for the cable. Theyre pretty cheap there.

3. Yes, the 525 DOES support .mmf ringtones. Its not really posted on sites and stuff but if you look in the PDF manual on the site it will say it on like page 45-46 or sumthin. It supports them to a certain extent. Certain size, i think 32 kb.

Posted by: littleasian

thank you SOOOO Much outlaw2_0!!!

now that i know it can support mmf files...i wont have to bother makin my own!. there are tons of mmf and midi files that i can download....

again..thx
