Pocket Tunes for free if I register Treo?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Is this true? If so, where do I go to register it?!

I'm trying to remember......

Wasn't there an option to register during the Palm Desktop set up process?

If not, maybe there's something in the documentation in the box?

Here's the Palm registration page:

yup i did it last week...its pretty sweet

Yeah, when you install the desktop software you submit your e-mail address. They send you a link for a free download of Pocket Tunes Basic.

Awesome...that is greatly appreciated! I didn't want to have to spend another ~$15 just so my MP3 ringtones could go on...I'm kinda tired of having to buy a new app for everything I want to do...especially when other phones i've had have been able to do them right out of the box...but oh well...

going to get my treo 600 within next 24 hrs (yea!!)

good tips to get the mp3 player. i would try to get the stereo handset from CompUSA. I do not want to get it online (shipping time)

I received the link from palmone for pocket tunes after registering. However, when I open the link and try to download the software, nothing happens. Has anyone else had this problem?

Posted by: lgreenberg

What do you mean by "nothing happens"? Do you get any message?

Posted by: Dr.G

Sorry, should have been more specific. My email message from Palm One links me to a secure palm one site where it states: "Here is your software. Then there is a link to Pocket Tunes. When I click on Pocket Tunes it brings up a box asking if I want to open, save.... I click save and then anothe box pops up showing the folder it will be saved in. Then I click save and nothing happens??? Confusing? Well, it is for me too.

That seems odd.

I still have my e-mail containing the link to the free Pocket Tunes download. I just tried it and was able to re-download the software again.

I forget how long it took me to get the e-mail, but it couldn't have taken longer than an hour. I remember hearing reports from some people that it's taken a day or two sometimes. I'd say if you don't get the e-mail by tomorrow, try calling customer service or send them an e-mail.

It took me about an hour to receive the email also! Today I tried downloading...now it works. Go figure? Anyway thanks igreenberg for your interest in helping!!

^just wait for him to send you the bill

Posted by: rossoneri

got the email less than an minute after registering. the sofware was in the PDA less than 5 mins after i registered. the problems with delay might be due to your POP mail server or hotmail (if you use like services)

Ok I'm the samer boat as some of you

I registered my Treo 600, it got the e-mail (BTW Mac user)
I clicked the link, it sent me to the dowmload page, when i clicked on Pocket tunes, it sends me to another page,
But there is no download link to be had

Questions
1)Why
2)Do i need a SD Card, and if i do, how would the net know if i had one or not, I'm not even getting the opportunity to download any file

Help, this is gettng me frustrated

I registered a few days ago, but I just got this-

" As a special thank you for registering, here's a coupon for 20%
off your first purchase of select accessories at the palmOne Store. Look to the palmOne Store for software & accessories to help you get the most from your handheld."

No mention anywhere in the email for a free download of Pocket Tunes.

Ditto! I even registered twice, once I was setting up my Treo and just in case I did not get it right, I registered again an hour ago. I got the same email you got twice. 20% discount but no Free Software.

I read somewhere that the Pocket Tunes offer is only for Treo 600 users...those who spend more and get the 650 just get a little discount on accessories!

i ptunes if free why didn't they just load it in the Rom before shipment.?

Posted by: sfu_engineer

Perhaps to save space on the ROM? And not everyone wants/needs these types of programs so maybe thats why it isnt on the ROM too. When i got my Palm Tungsten | E it came with Documents to Go, but it wasnt installed on the ROM it was included on the T | E installation CD.

For those of you who HAVE downloaded pockettunes for free with the registrion of your product...

1) Was it the complete version or shareware (limiting you to only 15 days to use the product)
