Hello

I have just purchased a siemens s40 and so far love it. The only problem that i am having is reception, is there any way of boosting it (ex. Cell Phone Internal Antenna), could that work?

nope those sticker antennas suck. its just gold ink on a sticker practically!

you probably don't have a cell tower by your house. thats why your not getting a signal. i have cingular and its always like that

Hello

There are 3 towers within a km of my house, is that not close enough for good reception?

3 towers within a km of your house. Ar e you sure that one of them is for your provider? Are there any obstructions between the tower and your house?

hello

Yeah i am sure that the tower are for suppier, there are a few buildings me and the tower, and between one of then there is a hospital

All 3 wouldn't be for your provider, they would only need one tower to give service to an area. If it's the tower by the hospital then it's possible that the hospital may be blocking some of the signal from you.

I have looked up the tower placement of the service provider that i have on a local map. All three towers are my provider show by the map!

its not a problem with the actualy siemens s40...i called rogers and asked what was up with the reception..and they told me that they were currently working on their gsm network..which would be fully up and running by the end of summer..so hopefully then, the reception should improve...

jaTT!nc, rogers has been giving that sad excuse to there customers for the year and a half.

I do not think they will ever have there gsm network up and running, let alone running properly

those towers probly dont have GSM overlapping.... even though the Rogers GSM network isnt quite as good as the TDMA/Analog coverage, it's getting pretty close....i obviously haven't been everywhere and people are gonna have different experiences but according to our maps GSM is almost equal and in some cases is available in places other networks are not....
