The only T-Mobile network with Free WAP for prepaid customers is T-Mobile USA. I use GPRS on Vodafone PAYT and it costs me but I use it in moderation so it doesn't knock off too much of my money.

Besides, one should always assume something will be charged for unless it is clearly stated otherwise by the provider. The provider will make such prices quite clear and if subscribers want to leave since they didn't look into the prices, then it's not their fault.

But to be on Pay As You Go is a very good thing since you can leave whenever you want. If you do want to leave T-Mobile, consider porting your number to another provider (this means you can keep your existing number). What you need for that is a PAC (Port Authorization Code) from T-Mobile, take that code to your new provider and they will then transfer your number as well as send you a new SIM card with the same number. This process takes anywhere from a couple of days to a week.

Cheers

True, O2 did have free WAP for the last couple months but that's ending on May 1st if I recall correctly.

I just showed my girlfriend how to use GPRS on her new 3200 on t-mobile. then we checked her balance and i was shocked at how much it had gone down by - seeing as my GPRS barely uses my credit at all on Orange.

I looked into the costs, and 2p per kb?!?! What a rip-off that is!
Orange charge £4 per mb (around 0.4p per kb)
