When I'm taking a photo the phone compresses the photo but if I beam it to my PDA and back again it is better! Why? I want a nice picture at once!

Check this post, it talks about how to get the phone to save your pictures without compressing the photo. it contains a great deal of information, and i believe it's the exact thing you're looking for. There seems to be a bit of disagreement about the method to get this to work, but, nevertheless, it contains a few methods that might be worth trying.
