has anyone else experienced this problem with the NEC 525... ive read at least one other report of the same thing...

basically the phone will cut off with a full battery, and come back on with the hourglass picture instead of the normal "HDM" login screen... this started yesterday where it would just sort of freeze up in the middle of using it, and would reset in this matter... progressively it got harder and harder to turn it back on, to the point where it wont come on at all now.

ive tried resetting the phone, taking the SIM card out and cleaning the connection points, etc. nothing is working...

there are some other weird symptoms as well, such as if you plug it in, the red LED light will come on as if its charging, but if it freezes while doing this, the LED will stay on even if you unplug it. this morning i could turn the phone on for about 30 seconds at a time (with much difficulty) and now it wont come on at all.

any suggestions?

Thats odd...
my NEC 525 hasnt had any problem like that. Try calling NEC tech support or your GSm provider?

well i called att, and their ××××head tech support guy had me do like 10 different "tests" to make sure it wasnt the screen blacking out. which it obviously wasnt since i was losing calls... but now im paying 24.99 for a replacement one, and im sorry i ever signed up for att. i still like the nec though, hopefully it wont happen again, but att just plain sucks

if this matters to anyone, i got my 2nd NEC 525 a couple days ago, and its already dead as well.

just so you know, never buy one of these phones, they are awful.
