Cam on Treo 600

Hi all,

I just got my treo 600 today. i am all excited. I am charging the phone at this moment.

during the battery charging, I tried to take a picture in my room. the light was not good enough but somehow, the screen looked very dark, and there had some "blue" spots coming on and off on the screen when i tried to point the cam to different directions.

since the light was not good enough, i tried to use the SE Z600 to take a picture. the screen on the SE z600 showed very bright picture.

it really bothers me because i am not sure why it happens on the Treo600. did i get a defective unit??

Nope, that’s the treo camera for you.

The only solution for darker shots is to wait a bit and the blue dots should clear away.

thanks. i just read the manual and it said the same thing. it said if i try to take a picture in the dark enivornment, the blue spot would come out (like disolved kind...) but after i took the picture, the picture quality would improve.

thanks

btw, how long should i charge the treo600 for the first time?

it is a kind of bigger than my e715 and z600 but i believe it is much smaller than any smart phone out there.

The picture quality on the Treo just sucks. It's simple as that. I love the Treo but the camera is not a good point...oh well!

There is a small application available over at Treo Central which improves the camera's picture quality slightly. I can't think of the name but think it begins with a "Q".

the treo camera has auto light audjustment...you have to let the camera adjust to the light around..and then it will come out better

also put on 3.04...the camera seems a lot better

it says the cam is a vga cam. i do not expect much on a phone cam, but treo's cam should not be worst than se z600. right?
if it is even worst than the se z600 i have, it really sucks.

(and it seems pretty hard to take a picture of myself with treo 600)

It is worse than the Z600, T610, V600...hell, my sisters T68i has a better camera than all the phones I listed!

If you want a PDA phone, this is the top choice right now. If you want a camera phone, don't bother!

The program is called Qset. What it does is turns down the jpeg compression.

From my experience I wouldn’t say its worse than the t610. I would say the same or a tiny bit better. The pics definitely look better on the computer than on the treo screen.

i think the treo 600 cam is fine...its better than the t616 but not as good as my nokia 3600 (obviouslY)

I can't seem to find the program Qset. Anyone have a link to it?

Thanks in advance. While I am here, what data do you loose when the battery on the Treo600 goes dead? I heard that you should never let it go totally dead, just wondering why.

Thanks so much,
Tom

I used Pickem when I had my 600. It increased quality, removes the blue dots, and has a digital zoom.
