Hi everyone,
I have changed all the tones to mp3 files, but what I have noticed is that when on silent with the ringing to off, the phone still plays the appropriate mp3 file, at a low volume, while ringing. Is this meant to be happening or is the phone faulty?

have you tried checking ur phone profiles? check the "warning tones" you can turn off if u dont want tones to rinnnnnggggg....

you might have found a bug in the phone!!! i tried turning every thing down but mine still plays the mp3 loudly when its supposed to be on silent!.

if you want true silence, select an OEM ringer. choose one with a nice vibra beat to it. its effectively muted.

on my 7210, if i used a headset and put it on silent, i heard the same low ringing tone you were talking about even with an OEM ringer. i havent tried this with the 6230 yet. ill prollyu post in a few mins when i find out

i just tried the headset and silent ringer no sound coming from the phone mp3 ringer still rings out i have version 3.15 march 2004.
i think its an omission that doesnt really bug me

found a cool trick. you can select the silent mode, use an mp3 ringer turn the volume up and guess what you phone flashes the LCD when it rings!! just like the 2100 haha

i have the same problem... if i turn my phone into silent mode, it still rings! but i've found out that it only applies to those in my caller groups.. those outside the group can call me and my phone will just buzz (which is what it's suppose to do!!!)...

so i tried restoring factory settings.. and it worked fine! my phone buzzed no matter who called (whether those in caller groups or not)... but after a few days.. it happened againnnnnn!!!

it's getting really annoying.. i don't wanna have to restore my factory settings every couple of days... >.< help anyone?
