Hi, I have no Idea of data cables used to install s/w. Can anybody help me out with a list of cables that can be used for different models & brands. For eg I think nokia cables can bu used with Samsung, likewise what other cables have the multibranded useage?

I think it's only a coincidence.
all depends on the cable and the interface of the phone.
maybe Infrared is better, can used by all phones support infrared .

Does all cell phone support infrared? like Nokia 6110, 5100, siemens c25 etc.

between the three you give,only nokia 5100 supports infrared.
6110 and c25 is too old

but I dont know what y really want to do?
want to use one cable and different SW to connect different phone with PC?

Infrared is very versatile and always recommended if a lot of phones are in question or if phones are changed regularly.
