S40 Voicemail

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone out there can help me.
My S40 got stolen, I bought a new one, and the dealer didn't really do much accept for sell me the phone. I had to call Rogers and ask them to take my account off suspension. That's fine now, but I'm having trouble getting my voicemail to work when I hold the "1" button down. I tried programing it onto the speed dial, but won't go through. Is there anything I'm doing wrong?
