Help with BitPim for newbies

First thing is that I have tried to search, but am new to the forums, and thus still learning to get around the different forums. So if you wanna link to answers that's fine, but direct help would be more appreciated.
Second thing is that I've noticed when people are talking about Bitpim they never say what version they're using. I am not sure if .62 is much different from .7 or not, but to me, it would be helpful to know when I'm reading a post if I am even using the same version as the one being discussed.
So let's get to it then....
I just installed Bitpim .7-test7 on WinXP and using the 'mobile office' Usb to phone cable was able to get my VX6000 detected and that was cool, downloaded the whole phone and that was great.
Now, why dont I have a brew directory, much less different directories for pics or graphics such as /mms or /camera? Is it because of the version?
Since I don't have these directories, I dont know how to enable bitpim to put pictures in the proper areas of my phone. Everything I add with bitpim and then upload to the phone just goes into "Graphics".
In bitpim it says that 'properties are not implemented yet'. Should I be using v.62?
I tried renaming some pictures on my PC (that had come from the camera area) and upload them back, and of course they went to graphics. I learned that you can't set these types of 'home made' pics as a Wallpaper through the Settings menu, you have to do it through MyMedia etc..
--Little update-- I added several pics to the phone after clearing the graphics folder on the phone, and I can't set many of them to wallpapers and I am not sure why. Some I downloaded from the web, and some came from my camera and I re-uploaded them.
Thanks for any help,
-haZe

So I need to step back to v.62? That's fine as long as I know. I assumed v.7 would work as well since they added support for the vx6000 in .62
I had even read that thread before and wondered about the versions, that is why I had asked.
Thanks for the reply, I will try it tonight when I get home.

Well I installed the version .62 from that link and couldn't even launch the application. I tried with the patched .exe file, then uninstalled and tried without it. Both times I got errors.
Any other ideas?
Playting around with .7 a little more and I realized the only 2 pics that I uploaed into the graphics area of my phone that I can set to wallpapers are the 2 that show as mms. I edited the index to put mms as the origin for another one, but it knows I'm trying to fool it. What enables Bitpim to know the source of the file? I deleted the index, and when bitpim relaunches it makes a new one, and it still knows those 2 files I have came from the camera, and tags them with mms.

Ok guys, im not a newbie so easy on the flaming. I had two nextel I730s and could do anything to them. But due to the poor nextel reception in my area i went back to good ol Alltel.
So now i have 2 LG LX5450 Motorola's. I bought the Data Connectivity Kit with the USB cable and software.
I need for someone to explain to me in ENGLISH what program i need to install on my computer so i can put all of the wonderful wallpapers and ringers that i have on my computeron my new phones? I have read a lot about BITPIM???????
but it seems noone is really sure what version to install to work properly on these phones??? I saw where someone used a few versions designed for the VX6000, but it had some bugs. I tried a few versions of BITPIM but it never would recognize my phone???? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
