For what it's worth, which may not be much.

I went in search of a red Sanyo 8200 today for my wife. I struck out everywhere I went, which included a Sprint store, Best Buy, Comp USA and Radio Shack.

While in the Radio Shack at the Palisaides center mall the sales person there told me they had both the blue and silver versions in stock (I held the blue version, it was sharp) but that they had to send ALL the red versions they had back due to peeling of the red color. Every single one they had, which amounted to about 12 units was having a problem where the red color was peeling away.

I know the phone hasn't been out long and I haven't seen anyone else mention this. I hope it does not become an issue.

Sounds like BS, my Sprint store just got about 15 in and they all are fine.

Sanyo's QC has gone down a lot recently, hasn't it? In my eyes, I don't view Sanyo phones as I did before, I don't know if I can trust them.
