Why wont my mobile office detect my LG VX4500 phone??

I just got this phone and im trying to use the mobile office kit. The darn thing wont detect my phone Ii have it plugged in the right connections but it still says "Wireless phone not detected".. GRRrr.. someone help me figure this thing out!! please..
