Games and 8900

I can take apps off my phone and put them back on my phone using BitPim. Has anyone tried to move a app to a different phone?

If I had another phone I try it or if I had someone else's files I could see if it is possible.

Anyone download a app from Verizon on their 8900?

no one has been able to transfer games as of yet as far as i know.

I can remove an app using the phone (settings, manage apps, remove), then I can copy back all the necessary files with BitPim and then it is restored and works again. So you can move apps to another phone, but whether they will execute I don't know. At least you can back up games you bought and shuffle them to free up memory.

Does anyone know if they will execute? Or is there some custom code in the app that recognizes whether or not its on the same phone?

There appears to be a security file named .sig, has anyone looked at it? I would love to compare my apps .sig file with someone else's.

I have a zip file with probably 80 or so apps that I used for my vx4400, are these compatible with the 8900?Can I install them the same way?Sorry to hijack the thread.

I have no idea about cross combatibility between phones. The apps on the 8900 use brew to run.

The LG uses brew to operate too if I'm not mistaken.

I used to have the LGVX4400 and I would just download the .mif to my PC, hex it and make it unlimited, upload it back to my phone, and reboot. Then it will start downloading the "disabled application". Does it work the same way for the CDM8900? I always wondered that cuz I loved doing that with my LGVX4400...all those free trials made unlimited!

sounds nice my provider doesn't even offer the ability to get games uploading them would be nice heck i wouldn't even mind paying for them if they would give me the chance

It sounds like you have something else besides Verizon Wireless. Why don't you switch to Verizon? After all they are the "nation's number one wireless carrier."

Anyways, does anyone know if you can HEX the .mif files of the GET IT NOW applications that are in the CDM8900 (kind of like how you do it in the LG phones) ?

There are .mif files and you can open them in a Hex editor. Where do you edit?

I downloaded one game but I paid for unlimited use. I will download a trial version and try it.

Have you ever transfered a game to a different phone?

I know I can copy it to another phone, but I won't know if it will open unless (a) someone sends me an app (b) I send some one an app.

Any one want to try?

It might just work right away, or need a file modified in Hex.

I was thinking that if two people have the same app and we compare the data in our files we can find out where they are different and what needs to be modified.

YIKES! I tried to do what I did before with my LGVX4400 and the applications DISAPPEARED! I guess it doesn't work...I wish someone could come up with a way to crack these trials.

Ya it would appear that the brew 2.0 apps are alittle more secure this time around. these new phones aren;t as easy apparently. Cbu might be on to somethign with comparing the same files from two different phones. even comparing a demo to its full version might lead to soem clues good luck

getting anywhere with this? it would be great if people could pursue this - I'd be happy to help if I can.

No one has sent me a game yet.

Need to have same game from two phones and compare files. I have Tecmo Bowl. Willing to buy a game you have to see how they are protected.
