For the past few weeks, I've been researching PDA phones, and GPS attachments. The primary use for this device would be as a GPS unit on my sportbike. Secondary use would be as a schedule planner and an emergency phone.
Here's the setup:
-Siemens SX56 Pocket PC Phone ($220 on Ebay)
-Pharos PK015 Pocket GPS ($200 on Amazon)
-Siemens SX56 Car Power Adaptor Charger 91458 ($30)
-Siemens SX56 / T-Mobile Pocket PC Earbud Stereo Headset with Answer Button 491331 ($20)
-HTC / Siemens SX56 POCKET PC Cradle 413324 ($30) Or RAM mount.
Can you guys give me some opinions on this setup, and how well I can expect the GPS to work? Can I still recieve or be notified of calls when the GPS is in use, for example? Can I listen to music while the GPS is in use?
Does the GPS work independently of the phone plan, and I don't need to pay any extra fees to use the GPS, correct?
I bought my last top of the line Nokia 8260 a long time ago and things have changed quite a bit since then.
Hopefully, you guys can shed some light on this topic and point me in the right direction. Can my setup be improved? (An $800 XDA2 is out of the question, though
)
