Headphones and/or headset for Treo 600

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I have been looking around and searching through various forums on info on a good pair of headphones (mostly) and a headphone/headset combo for the treo and the only one out there seems to be the one on treocentral.com from Seidio.

Problem is some people said it was a piece of junk. While someone here (greenberg) said it works perfectly.

My question is are there any headphones out there with a pin that connects to the treo600? Say for example from Sony or Panasonic or what not?

Hope the people here can help.

you can buy an adaptor and use it with your normal headphones.

This is what I use, http://www.seidioonline.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=252

You can use any headphones, no adapter for the Treo 600 is needed AND you can answer phone calls while listening to the headphones. Brilliant!

i was aware of this adaptor. however there seems to be several problems among users of this adaptor. I am not looking for links to products. i am looking for feedback from users of such products.

There's one on that page that is a 2 in 1 but allows you to plug in your own headphones/ear-buds. I want to be able to select which headphones to use, therefore this is perfect. And when a call comes through, you do not have to remove the headphones. You toggle a button on the mic/lapel clip and your voice is picked up with a proper mic. The phone call comes through in both ears as well.

If you don't care about what headphones you use, then they have the same with built in stereo earbuds.

Thanks. Are they any good though? Do they work well? I read some people's feedback on this item that said that they sucked. Did you experience any problems?

Mine work perfect, but I use them only as an adapter. I wanted to be able to use powered speakers, my koss headphones or earbuds. All 3 work well. You will find that the Treo does not "like" many powered speakers. This device gets around that problem, as does the Radio Shack Headphone Adapter with volume control.

I also use it with an FM Transmitter for the car, so it suits all my purposes:

1) Koss Headphones and take a call
2) Powered speakers attached to my phone!
3) FM Transmitter (I use the one from ebay.ca listed as "Hot" FM Transmiter)

No complaints about quality.

Or go to the seidioonline.com site and go under Handspring - Treo 600, it is the 2 oin 1 adapter that does not have any earbuds or headphones attached to it. Although you have the option to purchase with ear buds, behind the neck headphones or the one with nothing.

thanks for the feedback. i think i'll wait a few more months before making a purchase. i am in no rush to listen to mp3s on the treo600 because i have an mp3 player. however, if you say this works as good as you say it does, i might be tempted to get this over the 2 in 1 headset. the adaptor seems neat.
