Well I got a brand new P900 from Fido about a week ago and I absolutely love it. Everything about it is great so far, except for two issues. If you guys can let me know if this is a problem with my phone or if thats how they normally are it would be great.

When I speak to someone using the speakerphone, I can hear fine. But for the person I am talking to, they always complain that they hear these sharp, loud distortion noises. Ive tried it and basically the sound would be ok, but then there are all these loud screeches that happen randomly. Anyone else have this problem?

The second thing is with sms and the contacts. I have copied all my contacts onto the phone. If I go to Contacts they all appear and everything is fine. But if I am writing a text message and go to the address book, it shows that its empty. If I click on SIM the contacts on the sim card show up. So I have no way to choose the contacts from my phone when sending a text.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

well i dont know about the speakerphone issue but for the text, i am able to check all my contacts on my phone fine when i text someone. i do still have contacts on my sim too but i never have to do that. also maybe u should update ur firmware if it is out of date. might help it out a little bit. who knows

My brother has sometimes complained of "echo" when i'm talking to him on the loud speaker.

I had the same problem with the random distortion noises, but it went away after i restarted the phone and it hasn't came back ever since. Have you tried restarting the phone & testing it again? Btw, my firmware is R4A06, what's yours?

Well I just checked SE's site for the update. According to my CDA# I have the latest firmware R2B02. Whats hilarious is that in the release notes, the first thing supposedly fixed is the echo in the handsfree mode. I will update it anyways and see if it makes a diff.

why is ur latest fw r2b02. that is really outdated. are u on orange or something. most people who have unbranded ones are on the r4a06. that is wat i am on.

My phone is branded since it is from FIDO. The SE site says that for my CDA# the latest firmware that is approved by my provider is R2B02. Even though I already have it, I just finished downloading it on my phone. I also did the reset. I briefly tested the speakerphone, it seems fine but I will only be able to tell after trying it out more. I think the internal contacts not showing up when creating an SMS is a bug in this FW.
