Fluctuating signal on P900

I've had a, no more than, average signal since I bought my P900. It goes up and down regularly. Is there a way to fix this? Is it a 'thing' with the P900?
I have a Samsung phone on the same network (Orange) and that is/was fine. So I know that it isn't a network problem in my area.
Any help would be great.

signal meter going up and down a lot? it's a sony ericsson (well really ericsson) thing: they've got really accurate signal meters... not like other manufacturers' phones that "lie" to appease consumers; kind of like how some cars' gas gauges (or even tach) are more accurate than others

Yes I believe it is a SE thing and its even more noticeable in my P900 than it was in my T616. The signal meter is always doing a dance jumping up and down. But my reception with the P900 has been excellent. Even if the signal meter shows one bar I can easily make a call and it always sounds very clear.
