First of all I'd like to introduce myself and say hello to everyone out there.

I just purchased an LG VX 6000 phone and I've been reading about putting new wallpaper, ringtones, etc on to it. I've decided that the best way for me to do so is by using a USB data cable. I think I'm going to purchase this one: http://www.cellularaccessory.com/lgvx6000usb.html

Now, I know many people use BitPim to transfer files to their phones, will this cable work with that application? I'm assuming it will, but I wanted to check just in case. I saw a few bundles at Radioshack, cables + software that apparently, according to the guy that works there, only work with each other. Is this correct?

If any of this has been covered in another post I appologize and if anyone has any other cable suggestions please feel free to tell me.

No, the guy at RadioShack is wrong. The shack cables will work with BitPim and in general, any LG VX 6000 cable should work with BitPim. I get tired of trying to sell that Futuredial stuff, but it does work. I do sell lots of the cables though, and use one myself with BitPim.

Rez, I have that exact cable, and bought it from the same people. I like pimping it just because you can get the cable for $19.99, with free shipping and no sales tax.
