on my unbranded treo 600 with tmo service, i have friends literally calling me 10x in a row without my phone ringing once. then for no apparent reason, they will call again and it will ring fine.

to add to this frustration, today i could not successfully call out until i hard resetted it.

adding to this a horrible camera and a worthless speakerphone. should i send it back and hope for a better one? or are these common problems that anyone else has experienced?

The camera is average to begin with. Most people think it's going to be a lot better than it actually is. I'll bet your's is fine and you just expected it to be better.

The speaker phone is subjective. Mine works fine but it's doesn't really sound crystal clear.

Calls may be your service not the phone.

In any case, if you're uncomfortable with how your phone is behaving, send it back. The calls not coming through is not normal at all.

We used to get the calls not coming through when we were on T-Mo about 1.5 yrs ago. It got so bad that they actually let our 2 phones out of the contract WITHOUT the termination fee. They gave up trying to blame me and the phones themselves for their coverage issues. So it could be them.

I just got a Treo 600 for Sprint, and thanks to our moderator L, I'm becoming quite happy with it. I think some apps I put on were making it crash. Taking those off has made it crash-free. I have no problem getting service and online, but I need to leave my house.

I've only had it a day. Today, I hit the town where I used to get ZERO Sprint service, so this will be telling.

I find my speakerphone to be good but not as good as the ones I had with Nextel phones. People on my calls say they hear too much background noise, but I hear them fine.

called palmone today and without hesitation they are sending me another unit for the advance swap thing. i dont even think they are even stickin me for the $25, which is nice.

problem solved (hopefully).
