I've had the treo 600 for Sprint only a day or so now, and I'm noticing it crashing repeatedly if you do certain things. I've removed the few apps that were killing it. Now, I have one thing that makes it crash 100% of the time you do it (so I'm not doing it).

If I want to share a picture, I can look up the phone number or email address in my contacts. When I click on it, the phone resets. If I type in the email address or phone number, we're fine. This is only happening in Share Picture and not in text SMS.

Is there some sort of update for Share Picture that might clean this up?

Similarly, does anybody have a free fix for the outgoing SMS issue? I've downloaded an app that finally allowed me to send SMS, but if I want to keep it, I have to pay $15. I'd think that working SMS should be free!!!

As for SMS, you should be able to both send and receive SMS using the built in SMS application.

Did you unit come with the latest Sprint update 1.10?

As for the SMS, my phone Info: Records says that I'm OS 5.2.1 and Activation 1.0. How do I get 1.10? Can I download that or does the store have to do it?

Thanks. I ran that last night and ran it again this morning. SMS still isn't working.

Is it possible that when the updater does the restore of the data that it's putting back some of the old files???? I can't figure out why I would have done this twice but still can't send any SMS.

Also, which piece of info should I look for to know that it's 1.10? Is it the Activation version or another name?

You should go to the phone screen.

Then hit MENU, OPTIONS, PHONE INFO.

Under SOFTWARE it should read: Treo600-1.10-SPR

No, 1.0 still. I am suspecting that the backup and restore is overwriting this file. Are you sure that the restore process after that update does NOT overwrite the new file???? I've done it twice!

I didn't have that problem when I did the update.

Are you sure you're following the process exactly how it's explained in the instructions?

Yes, all three times! I plug in the hotsync cable and plug that into the charger so that the unit has uninterrupted power.

I run the updater. The first step is the hotsync/backup. Then you install the updater. Then the unit resets and takes X minutes to expand what it has and update everything. Then you end up restoring your data and it resets again.

That's off the top of my head, but I've been reading the directions and doing it very carefully THREE times now.

That phone number says thank you for calling sprint, press 1 to activate your phone. I asssumed I was getting PalmOne support since I'd think that why I can't run an upgrade that's on their site would be something they could fix. The Sprint people can probably only talk about my account and basic phone functions.

Have you a number for Palm/Treo support?
