hey.. my gfs sanyo 8100 went through the wash. when it came out of the wash, it was powered off. i immediately took out the battery and dried it out with a hair dryer. i tried it later, and i could charge the phone (screen works for that), but cannot actually power on the phone. any ideas? its less than 6 months old so i was wondering if there were any "tricks" i could use to help her get a new or refurb phone from sprint. any ideas?

hmm if u guys have the insurance on the phone, you can just say you guys lost the phone.

For future reference,

The absolute worst thing you can do to a wet phone is dry it off. It must dry off naturally if you want a high chance of using it again.

pretty sure its all done..ive done some reading and it sounds like there is a water damage indicator on the phone (little sticker behind battery). anyone had luck with water damage and the sprint store replacement?

just thought i would update...we took it down to the sprint store yesterday (1 hour away), they swapped the battery and charger and now works perfect. we both upgraded our firmwares while we were out there too. no cost of course.
