CDM8600 reception question

Hey everyone,
A few months ago I purchased a CDM8600 from Verizon. I got it in the mail and I loved it, until about a month ago when the screen started acting up. I took the phone to my local Verizon store and they replaced it and gave me a "new" 8600. However, the service/reception on my "new" phone is horrible. It rarely gets a full signal, even if I'm standing outside in the middle of a field. However, my old 8600 got great signal, no matter where I was at. Does anyone know a fix for this?
If this helps, here is the various versions of my phone:
Software:
T055VE2M01_4.235
Hardware:
TX-55C TX55C_Rev_02
Do you think I could go into Verizon and get this fixed? It's really annoying me, even moreso considering my old phone worked perfectly (albeit for the screen problem).
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Darren W. Silinski

I would take it back in be nice about it they probably give you another refurb or try updating the software if the new release truely exists. also have you tried doing *228 jsut to make sure the prl is up to date

Yes, bye all means take it back and ask that it be exchanged. I do not have reception problems with my 8600. Matter of fact, I usually get reception and able to make calls where others fail.
Be nice and patient and explain your concerns clearly....but also be firm and do not walk out without exchanging phones.
