I got all excited making my own wallpaper...loaded it up and saw that the ugly yellow box shows up with the date/time. Anyway to get rid of that?

i know there's a way you can make it a thinner horizonal bar that looks much better. i'm not sure if you need to hack the phone or can use the wallpaper app that you can download.

what size images are you using for your wallpaper? i'm using 128x160 but for some reason it resizes them when i put them as the wallpaper... i end up with a white border all the way around.

Applied...I forget the size I'm using..but you should use .png format and NOT a .jpg....jpegs will leave the white border while a .png wont.

I'm using photoshop to convert the jpeg to an png 8, which is the lower quality pngs. the images show up fine in the txt msg, but when i save them i then get an error when trying to use them for wallpaper.

what program are you using to convert a jpeg to png?

I believe the ones with the thin bar are Telus phones, not verizon.

When saving a wallpaper, you should save it as a .png file. Edit the picture so the file size is 111 x 128. On the top of the picture all the way across add 17 pixels of white. File size now = 128 x 128. If you send it to your phone via your own email, just the 111 x 128 portion will show up with no borders and no white on the top when you save it. Hope this helps.

Forgot to add this...when you are looking through your wallpapers you will see the white border. When you make it your wallpaper you will not see the white banner across the top.

Quoted from 'info' option on 'MyWallpaper' App...
"MyWallpaper is a program that allows users to customize the wallpaper of their phones."

So I'm guessing it's just a different program to let you switch between your saved pix as wallpapers.

actually, I d/l'd the free demo, and it pretty much sucks... there are a bunch of japanese characters, and a couple cool scenes of waterfalls and beaches, but they have a damned big white border around them when you use them as wallpaper!
