S40 Status Light Disabled

my status light on the top of my s40 is not linking. my friend has a s40 and hers blinks, mine doesent. does anyone know anything about this?

maybe it burnt out because you use it so much

did you turn off the signal diodes?
check it thru the menu
menu - phone setup - signal diode
