DKU-5 Data Cable

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hello All,
I recently bought a DKU-5 USB cable, I followed the instrucions onn how to istall it step by step, but my computer is recognizing the cable or the phone. The Nokia PC Suite program also keeps telling me that the phone is not connected. My USB port works fine with other products, I'm a little confused. I'd greatly appriciate any help anyone may be able to offer. Thanks.

Sorry guys, I meant that my computer is NOT recognizing the cable or the phone. Thanks.

I have the same problem i think. I can use MobiMB or Oxegen Phone Manager but Nokia PC Suite doesnt reconise my phone atttached for some reason :|

I finally solved the problem. For some reason the cable was recognized from a USB port in the back of the computer. After that I installed PC suite, and when I opened it, the phone was not recognized. I went into the connection manager in the PC suite program and changed the connection to cable connection from COM port 4 in my case, because a virtual COM port was created from the USB port. I found alot of info at : http://www.ringtonerfest.com/dcforu...umID1/9067.html
Good luck, and thanks for the reply.

My issue is a hybrid. My 6200 is recognized by Logo manger when connected with the DKU-5 cable and I have no problems moving tones and images around, however when I close Logo manager and open Nokia Suites, Nokia suites does not recognize that a phone is connected. The same applies if I open Nokia suites first, Nokia suites similarly does not "see" the phone, however if I close Nokia suites and open Logo manger without touching the phone which has been connected the whole time, Logo manager sees the phone instantly and I can do whatever I want. Any ideas before I uninstall Nokia suites out of frustration.

Sorry, I should have added that Nokia suites has ocassionally "seen" the phone when connected to my pc using the DKU-5 cable. Logo manager ALWAYS sees the phone.

maybe the 2 softwares are conflicting?

Posted by: jabxyz

Valid point, which if confirmed means Nokia Suites is gone!

I woulda started a new thread for it but for some reason I was not allowed.. anyway. I got a DKU-5 Cable recently and after several hours of toying with it, I finally got it to see my phone. (Nokia 3220). Problem is, the only thing I can seem to get my phone to tranfer files? I can do backups, and PC Syncs well enough, but I can't transfer files to or from my phone. I cant even browse the dontents of the phone. So... what do I do? Is there something I'm not doin right? Any help would be awesome.

First make sure you have installed the drivers first and after this go choose the pc suite that fit your phone... then go on your setting and under the Nokia connection check the cable or infra red or bluetooth, depend on the connection you want to use. It should recognize it.

Good luck if more troubles call 1-888-Nokia-2u

If you have bought an after market cable it is not the same story!

My setup works fine but the only problem is when I edit my contacts on the PC and try to update the phone, it doesnt work!!! Either it takes forever on the updating window message or a message saying "The phone rejected the operation"!

I am using the latest Nokia PC Suite + 6230i btw.

I managed to sync all my contacts from outlook initially, and decided to trim down the contact numbers (1000+) as its too much (phone memory full) and I dont need all of the contacts residing in my phone.

To delete one by one is a pain, and there is no option to do that on the phone (as per my previous nokias) but manually deleting it (Options-Delete Contact-Yes) !!!

I thinkI saw a similar question some time go, but I did not find the post now and that means I cannot quarantine that if someone has a different explanation compared to me: I suspect your operator(carrier) has disabled the functionality from the phone. You should ask from your operator is that the case.

i'm still having the problem, it' crazy., it may be becuase i have an after market cable. i can download things from my phone but i can't upload. please help!!!

if it is operator locked, what can my operator do?, my op is fido.

I am having problem with this data cable with my 2112. I have installed the drivers and PC suite, and when i click on get connected, i insert the phone and the phone is picked up by the computer. However, then the phone says "Data cable disconnect" (or something to that accord), and the computer is no longer able to pick it up.

2112? Never heard...

Solution 4 2280 & 2112 CDMA Phones

close Pcsuite
Connect phone to computer & Use logomanager to connect it then if logomanager can send recive data then close logomanager & quickly (very quickly) start pcsuite & try to connect with in 1 min

It will detect & stay connected .

I don't know why this bug is on cdma phones ;(
