O.k I'm a newbie, I'm sorry i have to ask this question. I did some seaching and i'm still stuck in the same place. Let me get this right, I just got a Kyocera SE47 with Verizon and i would like to download ringtones and wallpapes. Can i only download tones and pic with serial cable or is there another way to do it..(easy way)I try downloading from a website(www.myphonefiles.com)but i can't do it. Please help i need new music and Pix.......!

if you have WAP with unrestricted downloading, sure you can download from 3rd party sites. if not, you'll have to get a data cable.

Hi King....

I am by far no expert on this....but you should be able to use the serial or usb cable to download your ringers and wall papers....but only with the program called: BitPim
The USB cable from what I hear doesnt work well with the program called GAGIN.

What do you mean by "WAP with unrestricted downloading" VMvirginmobile? My servise provider is verizon and i have mobile internet, But when i try to download i get a error massege. Please help

you need the data cable to upload pics/tones to the phone. the USB cable WILL work with gagin and bitpim, but gagin doesnt let you do much so its kinda useless. you can also use the get pics thing on ghetto now and pay verizon to download pics. you have to upload them to a web site or something first.
get the data cable.

From what I was told by the customer rep, the Kyocera USB cable and/or data software & cable combo is out of stock until after the first of June.

Oh well, I will settle for the serial cable.

Verizon's get it now's "pictavision" is $3.99 a month for unlimited use. You upload your pictures and creat albums through www.dotphoto.com. Follow the instructions and then down load them to your slider. Be sure to format the pic exactly to what you want to see on your cell screen.

I recomend that you resize your pics to 320 wide X 300 high. Than adjust the brightness, contrast, and sharpness before uploading. This will give you better quality image due to "pictavisions" formating to your cell.

Like their motto goes, "It's like carrying hundreds of pictures in your phone."

Only airtime applies when accessing your albums. I do all of my downloading after "peak" hours, so I don't use up my minutes.

I have more than 10 different albums, with more that 15 pics each. I can download what ever picture I want, when I want, with out having to use up my cell's memmory by saving all sorts of pics in it.

$3.99 is not bad for all the unlimited pics that I can download. I get tired of having the same wallpaper pic for more than two days.

I hope this helps. I know that GetItNow is expensive, but if it were your business, you would see that it makes bling-bling.

I wasted a lot of cash on software that does virtually nothing that the phone itself offers! I was hoping for Kyocera to write a very powerful app that would allow me to edit my Slider to the "T". Not so. I can get better shareware. Do not waste your time. If your interested, I'll zip it up and email it to you for free!

pinomex, that is dumb. if you get a data cable, you can just upload them all to your phone for free and view them whenever you want. you save them on your phone so you dont need to connect to view them.

dont get the data cable from verizon, get it from kyroceras web site, its $40.

I thought not.

The function that I use, let’s me download whatever pic I want, when I want and without using all of my phone’s memory. The cable only lets you upload a certain number of pics. Than when you are bored with them, you have to hook back up, delete them, than upload new ones.

I’m sorry. I just don’t have all of that extra time in my hands to be doing what you think is more proper. Sounds to me like you are on a PRE-PAID plan. That would explain on why you would not want to pay the $3.99.

Tell you what. Become a full pledged customer and reach Customer Loyalty status like I did. They will give you 2,200 anytime minutes, unlimited in-network, unlimited nights and weekends, free roaming, long distance, the works. I pay $99.99 a month and they give me a voucher to redeem towards a new phone every year. I only paid the taxes on this slider phone, which was like $26.00.

Dude U still don't get it!!!??? U R basically saying that paying like $67.88 a year just to access pictures U GOTTA UPLOAD AND STUFF AND U only access it at ur unlimited plan time? (so much for anytime uh?).

I just bought my cable (serial cause usb out of stock) from the kyocera website for only $39 (register to get 15% off) and I payed tax ($3.29 california) and rush 2 days delivery (Fedex $9) so all in all it was $50.46, cause i was so inpatient ($42.?? without the rush), and now I put on my phone any picture AND music whenever I want (at home), I don't see the music for $3.99 a month there, so yeah, I think my investement was worth it, plus I also help my friends that have Sliders (Metro PCS Network), to get pics and songs they want, some of them even give me like $2 or $4 just for my time

(but u didn't hear that from me), HEY that's sweet I'm gettin my investment back, (LOL) , ok I'm waiting for ur comeback explanation now

First of all, I do not pay $67.88 a year. It’s $47.88, do the math and don’t exaggerate the story.

YES, I only use my off peak minutes, due to me working during the day, on weekdays. (How would you put it? Oh yes, “DUH?!”)

Next, I don’t need to add more ringers since I’m quite content with the ringers that are already installed.

Next, I have access to hundreds (that’s 100+) of my personal pictures that I can use as screen savers and/or wallpaper, at anytime, and from anywhere. Plus the ability to send those pics to anyone that I would trust with access to my account.

Last but not least, I get a new phone every year, so owning the cable is not a good investment in my behalf. BUT, seeing that your slider is your most treasured belonging, I understand why getting the cable and boasting of the capabilities would tickle your fanny.

Again, IF you treasure your phone and it has become your obsession, than get the cable. My suggestion is what works for me since I will not have this phone longer than a year. (That’s 12 months, Mighty.)

Now Mighty, let’s put this issue to rest. May I suggest that you run along and play with your toy.
