My S40's battary life is horrible lasts only about 3 days 4 if i get lucky i odnt use it much but for some reason it just drains my battary what is it from my battary? or is my S40 software is old?? software-version 3.1.0

don't think it's the battery
my software version is 9.0.0 but my battery's life is kinda like yours

You can extend battery life by deactivating unused frequencies (ask your provider) in the network selection menu.

I remember I was able to do select which band to use right in the menus of the phone when I was using ver 2.1.0 (?), but not anymore. Was that a option in the software that was removed or is it also dependant on the provider. Do you know what I'm talking about Frank?

how's your reception? I find my phone is looking for service half the time which really drains the battery fast. It sucks that the phone doesn't have a power save feature.

If you get a weak signal often then look for battery life to drain
very quickly (kinda like the Analog drain).

Read this CNET review below and you'll see that they get 4.5 hours standby.
It depends mostly on service provider and signal strength.

the signal is pretty good before when i got the phone i would get 5 days of battery life now 3 days

If U Guys are having alot of battery trouble with your phones you should really complain alot....it says right on the advertisements that it's suppossed to have 6-8 hours of talk time and up to 260 hours of standby.... i know these are sort of generous on Siemens part, but even exagerated the battery life shouldnt be as low as you're experiencing....

on european networks it's the truth, it does last that long, i didn't run out of battery for 5 1/2 days. But in North American there's poorer reception so the phone wastes more battery.
