6200 Data cable?

Can I upgrade my 6200 firmware using DKU-5 USB cable? I noticed there is other type of cable with SERIAL, what is this SERIAL one for??

I'm kinda new at this, and have just started playing with my 6200. But in reading through the documentation for the software, the DKU-5 is apparently not a pure USB cable, and the software treats it like a serial cable.

The DKU-2 (I think) was for older phones and was a true serial cable. I'm not sure about compatibility.

I don't know about a firmware flash with the DKU-5 - I haven't tried it yet. In order to get my phone and PC to talk, I had to have both the USB connection selected and the serial connection selected (and set to Nokia cable) in the communications menu on the PC.

You are partly right: DKU-5 (and the new CA-42) are both cable that from PC point of view are serial cables (although both connect to PC USB port).

BUT: DKU-2 (and the new version of it, CA-53) is a true USB cable.
