Verizon Customer Service is horrible

So, this is the tale how I've gotten my THIRD 8600 in the last FIVE months.
My second 8600 had horrible, horrible reception. It couldn't get anything, indoors or out. So I took it in there to get it looked at. They said they didn't know what to do, but there was a software update available. So, they tried it, but it fried my phone (like many other people here). I lost everything - my phone book, my downloads, everything. So anyways, they give me a new phone, program it, and say I'm set to go - with the same phone number I had before. I find it odd because the phone now had the notorious "Verizon Wireless" banner that scrolled every 5 seconds, whereas my last two 8600s didn't. I ask the guy to remove it, and he said he can't. So, that gets me pissed, and I leave. Just on a whim, I turn off the phone and back on again. Sure enough, the NAM setting gave me a DIFFERENT phone number than I had before. Almost throwing the phone on the ground, I proceed back into the mall and confront the tech again. He looks like he almost ×××× his pants as he realizes that he switched the phone numbers - a guy that came in after me now has MY phone number, while I have HIS. The guy consults like 2 people, and calls 2 others, and finally fixes the situation, acting like nothing was wrong the entire time. I was very patient for this whole 2 hour ordeal, and I ask for a credit onto my account. The lady at the desk says that they are "unable to authorize account creditation at this location" and advises me to contact customer service on the phone and they "may" be able to do something about it. The technician says that besides them frying my phone, there is NO REASON as to why my account should be credited. So now here I am without all my GetItNow downloads, without my phone book, and without a credit to my account. I'm just glad that the reception works. We'll see how long this phone lasts. Comparing with my other two 8600s, I'm guessing about a month. I knew I should have just gone with the 8900 to begin with...
