help with mic

I have a slider phone which I've used for abt 3 months and the other day I dropped it and now nobody can hear me unless I use the handsfree. The problem I think is the microphone. Either it came loose or (hope not) the circuit board is cracked. In any event, I've been able to get some info on taking the phone apart but nothing shows me where the mic is placed at. Does anyone know from experince where the actual mic is placed. Is it hot wired into the circuit board or is it a loose item? Thanks in advance.

I haven't been inside that particular phone but my guess is you are not going to be able to repair it. Surface mount components are the norm these days, and they are NOT user friendly.

See, you should have run over it with a truck, like I did, instead of dropping it. Mine works fine!

I just might. lol. I've had many phones and I've dropped them all and never had problems till this one. I guess its a fragile phone....hehehe.

As for returning it...I may have no choice.
