Can someone tell how to take off the darn 1x ready of my phone?

I have a Metro Pcs Slider se47, got it 4 days ago, ordered cable, houzing case and all the goodies, but I want to know if there's a code to take this 1x ready off

, or should I just wait until I get the cable? I did stuff like this with my nokia's and they always worked, but i don't know the coding #'s for the slider, anyone, once, anyone, twice, appreciate any help in advance.

If you can pm me it would be nice to, since I hardly come check online stuff, but yeah, thanks.

There's no way to take the 1X Ready banner off our phones with Metro. You can try to take the phone down to a Metro PCS store and see if some technician can do something about it for you but I doubt they will. The Kyocera Rave phone had the same problem.

if you know the codes, do 111111, programming, nam1, name, and change as you please.... i think

The only way that I know to get rid of it is to have the pst s/w. You could probably ask them at a metro pcs store to do this. Here's what you need to have done>
start up pst s/w and load phone info
click on data tab
change 'Idl Scrn 3G Data Info' from true to false
write changes

you're done
You will almost certainly need this done at the store, just write down my instructions and hope that the sales guys are nice.

When I do the 111111, programming
it asks me for a passcode which i saw in a previews post as
587846 and then I get a screen that has the options
ESN
MIN
HOME SID
MDN

ESN =
(dec)
069 06338577
(hex)
0x4560B811

MIN= my phone #

HOME SID = 5037

and MDN = my phone # again

which is the one that might do it, which I don't think has anything to do with any of the above options.?

U guys gave some good ideas though, thanks for the going to the store one, but i think there should be a way without going there, cause I want to fix several other friends phone's too

so we can enjoy it together!

Nam1 name is not the 1x ready banner. Unless of course metro pcs did something stupid and put that in there instead of something like Welcome.
BTW, metro might have changed the phone to only allow one nam, but I think you are right there would still be a Nam1 info choice. They probably modified the firmware to have less options.

This is the Menu on the 111111 hidden menu for Metro Slider phones:

Version: all the phones version and stuff
sw version ns10191 blah blah (u all should know)

Programming (with security code 587846)
that has the ones a listed above (to lazy)
(and when u enter there and exit the phone restarts)

That will also get rid of the 1x icon, to get rid of the 1x Ready in the box below 'Idl Scrn 3G Data Info' is ''Idl Scrn 3G Data Text' put a few spaces in instead of a blank. If there are no spaces and it is blank it will display the 1x Ready. I know this because I had someone enable the 1x icon on my VM Slider and we had to figure out how to get the text off.

Dude I went to the store yesterday after overloading my phone with ringtones and wallpapers, and I asked the dude to change my 1X ready, and he said and I quote: "if you do that it would affect ur signal, and then ur reception can drop....." blah blah i thought, that's a way of saying, I DON'T KNOW HOW TO, one of you guys seem to know what u were talking about, how do I get to that menu, phonewise or datacable wise.????

read my quoted message in inothomes' post right above yours and also take note of his idea to uses spaces instead of characters for the 1x ready text to allow the 1x icon to remain. It is very simple with the pst s/w and a data cable.

Gagin - WinXp and the data cable, I downloaded several ringtones and wallpapers but gagin doesn't work that well, how and where in gagin I will find the pst s/w feature?? thanks again.

pst is the s/w you need...gagin is totally different s/w. You need the kyocera pst s/w.

All you need to do is set the phone for PRev 4 or whatever that is called on your phone.

1x is PRev 6 (Protocol Revision 6)
Setting the phone to PRev 4 turns off 1x.

PRev 4 sometimes improves your reception if the tower has separate channels for the old PRev 4 phones. These days almost all phones are 1x, so the channels running 1x under Protocol Revision 6 tend to be more crowded than the channels running IS-95 under Protocol Revision 4.

The pst software link u listed didn't work. could u try to pm me another place, my phone has all the ringtones mp3's and mid's I can want and also bmp wallpapers but the annoying 1X Ready is still in the middle of my screen and it really ruins my beautifull images.
Does anyone had that removed recently?

Gagin and Kyocera desk [installed]. WinXP pro. USB kyocera cable.

14 mp3s and 7 mids. Leave memory in ur phone about 280KB+ if not fone will be useless.

Gagin displays memory avai at the bottom right.

Not sure what you were asking, but if you're asking if someone had the 1x Ready removed, I did. You need the PST to do it.

You don’t need to use a PST. As mentioned in my post above all you need to do is change the PRev Protocol Revision on the phone.

But then it is not on the 1x network. If you use the phone as a modem on the Express Network or whatever it is called now you can only connect at the lower speed.

Forget about changing the PRev. That was a mistake on my part. I mis-read your question and thought that you were actually trying to disable 1x, not just get rid of the 1x banner.

Wow I'm really happy now. I used the PST software to get rid of the 1x Ready banner that was always sitting in the middle of my phone!

For those of you with MetroPCS sliders and a data cable, all you have to do is download that software, install it and set it up (tell it which com port you have your slider on), and then go to Data, and you can either choose 'False' for 'Idle Scn 3G Data Info' ...or you can choose 'Idle Scn 3G Data Text' and put in a bunch of spades.

Also I just wanted to let you guys with MetroPCS Sliders know that the programming code that you have to enter when you use this softawre is NOT 587846 for the Metro Sliders. The programming code you have to enter when you use the PST program is 976600

Yeah, thanks for the program, but even though we have the same phone, I don't know if it's my cable or what, but it's not listing my com port 3, and I hooked it up in difrent USB ports thinking it was the usb jack, but it shows up on my gagin, so I don't gett it. Do u know what's the deal? thanks in advance!!!

Inside of the Kycera software (Wireless PST Configuration) select the 'ports' tab then select 'add new port' . Then add the port that your computer is showing the phone connected to, com3 ? I would guess com port 3, since that is what you said Gagin is showing.

Edit: YAY too soon the Phone service programming code
doesn't work, I did both 587846 and 976600 it asks me for the code or don't respon for 10secs.
My phone is on MetroPCS Network anyone knows, what wrong is my mistake?

Do a hex dump (I do not know if you can do that in GAGIN) and browse to this file 'nvm_security', located at nvm/nvm. Look at the tenth row (row 09) , sixth bit over you see a 6 digit number. Try that number. The next 6 digit number after that is the debug screen code.
I am using BitPim .62 to look at the file system, I can not get BitPim 7test 11 to work correctly with this phone. If you need BitPim go to sourceforge.com and search for it

Thanks that worked great, i had to do a few steps in order to get it to work, my phone's code was and maybe cause It's a LATER se47 that they changed some stuff, cause the older one I had was difrent in the inside, I noticed it while changing my housing. can't explain what I did right now, I don't have enough time but thanx a lot for the help.

Extra: Is it possible to remove, or do something with the
date and time cause these are still messin with the image view

i'm just being greedy right now, but it sure would help to get rid of at least one of them. Thanks again u guys, i'll post something to aid everyone else soon.

Hahaha right after I got rid of the 1x Ready banner the very next thing I was looking for was a way to get rid of the date and time juwst like you because I also wanted to get rid of anything that covered my wallpaper image. Doesn't look like that's possible. I don't care that much though, because at least now there's nothing blatantly sticking out on the screen like that annoying 1x Ready banner was.

You can get rid of your regular banner though of course because that adds a line of text (you could always do that anyway within the phone) but I don't see anything that lets you change the date and time banner in the PST software. All I see is a setting that changes the manner in which the date and time are displayed..which again is an option you could already change within the phone.

By the way, what is different about the "newer" Slider you claim you have from my "older" one?

Definately no way to remove the time/date in the pst. Only way that I can think that might be possible is editing some hex code from the phone...but don't ask me how or where. If I knew, it would be done and posted by now.
