VX 4500 PC Sync using VX 6000 Mobile Office Kit?

I am trying to copy my vx6000 phone number list to my new work phone, a vx4500. My copy of Mobile Office and PC Sync (LG version) doesn't have the vx4500 listed since it came out after the software was created. Is there any way to update the Mobile Office software without having to buy a whole new version?

The problem is not just the software/drivers, but also the cable.

The VX6000 uses a straight-through USB, while the VX4500 requires a USB-to-Serial converter. There are different Mobile Office Kits for the VX6000 and VX4500 with different cables.

P.S. -- If your new VX4500 is still using original firmware, you can get it updated/flashed at a Verizon store with a technical services department. The current software version is T45VZ02, which fixes a few bugs. You can check to see which version you are running by using Menu-9-8-2.

Thanks for the good information. I do need a software update.

I am showing a solid triangle even though I am not roaming. I have updated the PRL, etc., and was on the phone with technical support for an hour and no one could figure it out. Could that be one of the bugs that was fixed? If not, I guess I'll need to make a separate post.

I like this phone better than my vx6000 so far. The novelty of the camera wore off pretty quickly.
