While charging the battery on my 6820, I noticed the screen flickers a few times, then the screen turned white and it went "contact service". I turned the power off and back on several times but could not revive the phone. It is only five months old. Is it a firmware issue? I purchased it from ebay and really don't have an official receipt from Nokia but, had one from the seller.

i have the same problem with my 6820... it shows "contact service". I believe it's the firmware problem...i take the phone to a local repair store....the guy believes it's the firmware problem, if can flash the phone, it'll be fixed.. but he doesn't have the right flashing cable and firmware for it.

If anyone knows how to flash or knows anyone capable of doing it, i'm willing to pay $50CDN to do it. plz let me know asap. I'm in GVA. thx.

Are you willing to ship the phone out? i have the means to flash, in an attempt to recover the phone

I had shipped my phone out to Nokia. Don't know for sure what they have to say, since I did not purchase it from them. If they say that they'll just have to bill me for the repair, I guess I just have to live with that. Only of course for a reasonable price.

I received my phone back today from nokia, untouched. They refused to repair it. They said that it has a foreign IMEI and the phone is intended for foreign customers only. What kind of crappy technical support do they have here in the US? I remember a few years back, I bought a nokia phone here in the states and I took it with me when I made a one time trip overseas. Somewhere along the way, it developed a problem. I took the phone to a repair center with no questions asked. Half an hour later, I had a fully functional phone again. Is there a double standard here that I missed? Oh well, just another collection of paperweight on top of my desk, and perhaps my last nokia purchase. Way to go SE!!!
