I have been reading the threads on Kyocera Slider and using Bitpim and a data cable. Some claim it works. Well, it's not working for me.
I have the Kyocera USB cable and I cannot get Bitpim to recognize the phone. I tried this on two different WinXP boxes and had no luck.
I have all the right drivers and have installed the software after I connected the phone. What gives? Has anyone been able to get this to work after they too went through similar difficulties. Can you post what you did to get it to work. I would like to use Bitpim and stay away from Gagin if at all possible.

You need the official release, not the beta release.

I have not been able to get Bitpim to see my Slider. The following are my settings:
OS:WinXP Pro
SE47 Slider
Kyocera TXDTA 10054 USB Data Cable
I have confirmed that the Data cable is functional. This was determined by using the Kyocera Desktop Software. It saw the Slider on the COM port assigned as well as syncing data from Slider to desktop. No questions that the data cable works.
I then removed the Kyocera software. Installed Bitpim .062 and was not able to connect. This was also the case with Gagin.
So, my question to all those lucky people out their who claim success is what kind of Data Cable is being used and what driver are you associating to the cable.
All replys are greatly appreciated.
Regards,
LRRP

makesure you have uninstalled any kyocera programs first. then read the thread by ozien on howto and also make sure you dbbl check the port settings and click on the file system folder then click open the '+' under the name column.
i've done it both ways...... by serial and usb on my systems......

Which Bitpim do you use? and did u get the driver from futuredial? and use the LG VX6000? Or what r u doing cuz i have all of it and it still doesn't work for me....

.62 futuredial drivers and the radioshack VX6000 cord. Where did you get your cord at? The ones on ebay dont work. I have already tried those ones. Radioshack works great though

so the vx6000 usb cord fits the port on the kyocera slider and actually works for transferring data?

okay.... i had a similar problem with bitpim not working. it took me 4 days to figure it out but i got it working with my se47 and the 10054 usb cable. make sure the phone is set on other cdma cell, and make sure the COM setting in the accessories, is set to the lowest setting and if that works try working your way up the com speeds, until it stops, then go back one. I hope it solves your problems, i know how bad it is having cable and not being able to do anythin with it.

I could get BitPim to connect, but never could get a file transferred TO my phone or FROM my phone. I ended up using the QPC program in the LG forum, and it worked BEAUTIFULLY! You might try that.

Kyocera original drivers are found here:

As for the BitPim recognizing, you must configure the com port as described above. Other manufacturers have different drivers but it was already noted that Futuredial from Radio Shack is a bad or intermittent connection. Judge yourself for the LG cables and their compatibility with Kyocera.
