i purchased the clear casing/flashing battery combo from www.daydeal.com , ($40) and it came immediately (great service). I immediately got down to installing the case, but I had a few problems afterwards, only one of which i cannot fix.
First,
there was the problem that the phone didn't recognize that it was sliding. did some research, put the two metal pieces back in. Works fine.

Second
(and im hoping that this might help some others with the same problem) for whatever reason, the backlighting wasn't working. I saw the phone fine, just wasn't lighting up. So, i opened it back up and checked the ribbon cable, but it was fine. I shut the phone off and back on twice and then i just went into the settings-display-baclight-duration, and changed it. nothing. THEN, for whatever odd reason, I went back and changed it once again (to my original setting) and it worked like it always had.

The final problem,
which i am thinking can be fixed by a dremel (but i wanted to check to see if anyone had a better idea) is that when i press down on the directional keypad, it goes left/right AND down, and half the time, it somehow activates the "OK" command. Is this a problem with the size of the casing, or did I somehow screw up putting in the pad?

Try taking the phone apart again (I know, not fun)...and take the keypad out and make sure its clean underneath it, and that all the buttons work fine when its not in the faceplate.

O yea, is it the OEM keypad or the one that came with the housing from daydeal? Because I couldn't get the OEM one to fit, and ended up using the one that came with the housing, and it works better.

actually, im just using the original keypad, i just liked it better. The only problem is with the "left/down/right/up/ok" portion, but it is clean and works fine and everything, so i dunno. thx for the suggestion though
