vx3100 question

Hello out there. I was wondering if you can download ringtones to the vx3100? Seems everybody around me is getting this phone and they are asking me about them because I have loaded ringtones to mine (t720) and they want to know how.
If it is possible do you use a data cable or something else?

I have bought a data cable for my lg vx3100 off of ebay but for some reason I can't get my computer to recognize the phone when I plug it in. I have tried it on my computer running xp, my roommates running xp, and his laptop running windows 98 with no luck. For some reason I dont think that the phone is supported. If anyone can help that would be great!
