I was browsing around the net checking out latest prices of various phones. I happen to come across smartone's website in HK and out of curiousity checked out the price of a Panasonic X70 in HK.

Guess what?? The price listed on their website is $2200 HK for a brand new X70 with 1 year manufacturer warrenty from Panasonic in HK. FYI, $2200 HK ~ $390 CDN..

I have no idea why they are selling it for so cheap, coz there really isn't a model that will replace it.. is there?

i'm pretty sure the $2200HK is if you sign up with smartone cause i just got my friend to buy one for me a couple weeks ago and it was $2580 from Broadway.... and that was cheapest non-water product there is...

he did find a one at $2200 but is water product and has no chinese, need to add extra $100HK for chinese. so i just decided to get from Broadway instead.

and in HK panasonic came out with the X66 which is a smaller version of the X70 but is only dualband and that's only $1980HK for non-water product..

anyways here a HK website you can check out prices in HK, they update quite often. (site is in chinese).

yup! i check out that site often, pretty cool site indeed..
no wonder their price isn't listed on phonehk.com. X70 is positioned above the x66 though, so i don't think they would greatly impact the price of the x70.

that's true... i wouldn't mind if X60 worked here... it looks better than the X11 and X77....

Dont forget about custom charges!

I dont know how much it costs, but for electronics and stuff it could be around £50-100 or so. If you get past customs by sending it as a gift, and they dont check it, then your lucky.

well i'm in canada... i go back every couple of years so we have certain amount of tax-free items... so it's still worth.

Yeh, I go there every 3 years for my ID thingy.. I wouldnt pay a £300 ticket just to go to HK to buy a phone. But it would be a nice holiday tho
