I am getting one of these phones on june 2nd after my current plan ends. I was wondering a few things, I am a real n00b when it comes to the inside work of a cell phone. And i was wondering a few things. From what i can understand that WAP is closed for VM... but what about Verizon? Also, is there any way to download ringers to my phone other then buying them from verizon or whatever or investing in a 40 $ data cord? Just a few n00b questions I hope I can get answered. Thanks a lot agian to everyone who has put effort twoards this site, it has grown into a great place to find info. I didn't know anything before i came here, Now i don't know much more, but thats only because i don't understand the info thats here. Well anyways thanks and hope i can get some answers.

After some frustration, I learned that you can get WAP without using Verizon's gateway (search for the Openwave developer's gateway). Problem is, you have to have valid WAP addresses to save in your contacts, and I haven't found too many worth going to yet.

The data cable may be worth it if you've got the EN MOU and want to surf the net on your N&W minutes. That's also the only way to get ringtones and wallpaper on the phone without using GIN.

There's also some really good posts on creating ringtones and wallpaper from MP3's and pictures you may already have.

I've had the slider for 3 weeks now. In the first week, I spent ALOT of time messing with it. Now it's just a phone that can do some neat things.

Have fun with it!
