I have a nokia 3595 and an RS232 serial cable that snapps under the battery on the phone. Using the cable I can interface with Oxygen Phone Manager and Gnokii. Both of these software packages seem to talk to the phone in FBUS mode (I think) a binary protocol.

Does anyone know if it possible to talk to this phone with AT modem commands?

i not an expert in this feild but i think i have read somewhere that that can not be done. again im not fully sure.
