Ok, still can't get the ×××× thing working...
I have the 17-792 Radio Shack cable ("#19"), bitpim v. 0.7 test 10 and I've downloaded the FutureDial drivers.

When I connect the phone, my first concern is that my computer doesn't seem to recognize that a device was attached. (Not visible in "my computer".)

When I try bitpim I set the phone at LG-VX6000 and whichever com port it is plugged into. When I try to "get phone data", I get the following error.

What gives? Any advice would be appreciated!

Got it working and the stupid Verizon banner is GONE!

Basically, asking bitpim to "get phone data" under the "data" tab wasn't the right approach. Once I looked at "view filesystem" under the "view" tab, everything was fine.

I still can't figure it out. Where did you edit it under filesystem, scdgoofy? Thanks

filesystem ---> nvm ---> eri

Right click on the ERI_binary.bin file and overwrite with a file of the same name that you get from here: http://www.earthuser.com/8900/
